The museum goes to school

The museum emerges from its container to share its greatest treasure: its collections

The Museum Goes to School is the project launched in experimental form in 2014 that sees MAXXI taking a number of works from its permanent collections to public spaces, beginning with schools.

Professional museum staff, educators, interns from La Sapienza University’s Museum and Territorial Education course and from the Rome Academy of Fine Arts have involved students in visits, workshops and projects designed to produce art works inspired by the pieces on display in the school, with their contents reread and reinterpreted through the sensitivity of the young protagonists.
