How do you create an exhibition, a magazine, or a book on design?
Is there a method for being creative?
What characterises a great talent?
Four events devoted to one of the most studied and ramified contemporary disciplines. Enter the designers, critics and entrepreneurs who have marked the history of design project in the last fifty years, both in Italy and the world.
The second event will see Giovanna Castiglioni, daughter of Achille, accept the challenge of speaking about the Castiglioni family. Apparently, you can never stop learning about the many ways in which Achille and Pier Giacomo worked from the ’60s to 2002, as the archive is full of surprises, and the Achille Castiglioni Foundation is always inventing new ways of communicating by use of its historical heritage, projects, re-editions, and interactions with the audience. Giovanna Castiglioni, together with the Foundation group, shares with today’s designers the “Castiglioni way” of working and living, which is based on kindness, curiosity and irony.
Giovanna Castiglioni cast aside her degree in geology in order to manage the many projects found in her father’s study. She has been the curator of the Studio Museo Achille Castiglioni since 2005, and in 2012 she was appointed Vice President and Secretary General of the Foundation. She currently coordinates the archiving activities involving the Foundation’s cultural heritage, and she teaches the “Castiglioni method” to people of different ages, cultures, interests, and nationalities.
