more information

A novel that tells the story of the twentieth century through the “Capital of the World”, the city where everything happens, the beating heart of the American dream.

17 April 1912, a small crowd is gathering at Pier 59 in New York. Alongside real figures such as Mayor Jay Gaynor and Josef Stránský, director of the New York Philharmonic, there are other fictional characters: all are waiting to see the silhouette of the famous ocean liner returning from its maiden voyage appear on the horizon, never mentioned in the novel thanks to an effective and surprising narrative choice. Antonio Monda recounts their lives, weaknesses, ambitions, abuses suffered and expectations with deep involvement and delicacy.

Una mattina gloriosa is the tenth and final novel in the literary saga created by Antonio Monda, professor at New York University and artistic director of Le Conversazioni.
