A meeting to explore the work of Ugo La Pietra and his innovative contribution to contemporary thought.
Trained as an architect, and active as an artist, filmmaker, musician, cartoonist and lecturer since 1960, Ugo La Pietra – also featured in the exhibition Tragicomica. Perspectives on Italian art from the mid-20th century to today – plays a leading role in the fields of communication and the visual arts. A tireless experimenter, he has explored various movements and utilised multiple media, conducting research that has crystallised in the theory of the ‘Disequilibrating System’ and in significant sociological themes linked to the urban landscape and the anthropological, political and cultural territory.
The new volume Territori. Dagli anni ‘60 al 2025 traces over sixty years of consistent and persistent research in the field of landscape architecture, spanning exploration and design, and highlighting the key stages of an inquiry that has unfolded across various interpretations of the concept of territoriality.
