An exhibition that aims to bring ‘the Futurists into their future’, that is, today, as theorists and pioneers of our present.

In many aspects of our daily lives, the ideas of the Futurists have become commonplace. In particular, two elements, more than others among those theorised and put into practice by the Futurists, have become fundamental points of reference: speed and simultaneity, as is clearly evident, for better or worse, to each of us.

“Our work, just a few months old […] is at least a hundred years ahead of Italian artistic sensibility”. Umberto Boccioni, Futurist Painting and Sculpture (1914).

Alongside a selection of Futurist masterpieces by Balla, Boccioni, Depero, Crali and others, four Italian artists – Fuse*, Fabio Giampietro, Donato Piccolo and Quayola – present new works inspired by their theories that imagine the near future.
