Swapping between the distant past and the present, Di Paolo explores the climatic disasters of our individual lives.

Mauro Barbi, the main character in Romanzo senza umani (Novel without Humans), wants to shelter himself from the effects of a series of ’emotional accidents’ – as he calls them – that he has caused. He has plunged back into the lives of people he has not seen for a long time, pretending to reknit broken threads to get answers out of time.
