The Roma Creative Contest is the International Festival di Cortometraggi organizzato dall’Associazione Culturale Image Hunters: born out of a desire to create a space for the promotion of and discussion regarding new independent film, the project has soon established itself as a point of reference for “young” productions and film.
This year’s edition is inaugurated with an Open Day hosted by MAXXI: at 11.00 AM the scriptwriter Nicola Guaglianone will be initiating the second edition of the Screenplay Contest, a competition that will reward the best script with the realisation of the project by Image Hunters in collaboration with Rai Cinema and Laser Film. This will be followed by a directing masterclass with Gabriele Mainetti, director of the multiple-award winning and acclaimed Lo chiamavano Jeeg Robot. Among the numerous events within the Open Day will be the prize-giving ceremony for the competition for illustrators, graphic designers and photographers “Potere Creativo” that will present the best posters from among the hundreds of proposals that have arrived for this latest edition of the festival: the screening of the finalists in the competition “Corto in Treno” realised together with Trenintalia; the editing workshop with Marco Spoletini and the professional meetings of “Pitch in the Day”, the project aimed at all emerging authors with a pitch for a feature to propose for their first film realised in collaboration with Road to Picture Film and Opereprime.org and with the participation of the leading Italian producers. Moreover, returning for the third year running will be the space dedicated to actors, Casting Training: three minutes to demonstrate through a monologue your talent and professionalism in view of the new Italian film and television productions.
