Must architecture give up all utopian ambitions?

The book that inspired the meeting starts from the question of whether it is pure utopia nowadays to think of architecture free from the market. The changes in today’s world force those who should implement these changes to ask themselves these questions: architects.

And it is indeed the role of the architect that must be questioned in order to try to understand “what remains of architecture” in the phase of apparent development (unstoppable urban growth, incessant proliferation of buildings) that we are currently experiencing: that is, what its limits are, but also what its real possibilities are. To do this, we need to rethink the very roots on which the profession of architect is based, the original meaning of the arché that lies in its name.
