One hundred years from the birth of the great intellectual and in anticipation of the exhibition, Recalcati shows us how we can inherit the political thought of a great prophet of the contemporary world.
Pasolini was a visionary: he was able to read the beginning of an era of barbarism, of a ‘New Fascism’ in post-World War II capitalist Italy. Recalcati, one of Italy’s best-known psychoanalysts, guides us through the time of the fall, which surrounds the whole of Pasolini’s thought and punctuates the exploration of a world slipping further and further into darkness. To save oneself from the spectre of the new fascism, one must enter the institutions and transform them, not taking power as a starting point but brotherhood. It is a call for the young sons of the bourgeoisie of Sixty-eight and, perhaps, not just for them.
