MAXXIperTUTTITana per tuttiItalian Sign Language (LIS) workshop
A tribute to the extraordinary photographer who knew how to portray the country that was being reborn with delicacy, rigour and wisdom.
With 573 photos in just 14 years, Paolo Di Paolo was the most published photographer in the cultural magazine Il Mondo. His shots described Italian society in all forms, from big cities and rural settings to portraits of intellectuals, artists and film stars, which have become iconic images.
In the museum’s videogallery – free admission – the screening of the documentary The Treasure of His Youth – Paolo Di Paolo: A Treasure of His Youth by Bruce Weber. It is a story about the healing power of art – the reconstruction of a man, his legacy and his connection to the world.
In the afternoon talk, the photographic reportage La lunga strada di sabbia, which Paolo Di Paolo made in 1959 together with Pier Paolo Pasolini, travelling along the coast of Italy from the western border to the eastern border in a journey destined to enter the history of literature and the history of photography, will also be presented.
