After great success at the Museum of Modern Art in Buenos Aires and the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, MAXXI is hosting the first Italian exhibition of the Argentine group MONDONGO composed of Julianna Laffitte and Manuel Mendanha.

On this occasion the exhibition features a major installation on landscape, the fruit of labours lasting five years, and a number of works from the calaveras (skulls) series.

Created with Plasticine forming high and low relief features, the works are composed of obsessive details of forms and colours that highlight pictorial abilities and touch on cultural references from the classical tradition through to contemporary reinterpretation.
