A tribute event based on the book by Sergio Bianchi, curator of the exhibition Luigi Pellegrin. Envisionings for Rome together with Angela Parente.
Through the story of a human and intellectual relationship spanning decades, the book reconstructs the thinking of one of the most radical and prophetic figures in 20th-century Italian architecture, who, as early as the 1960s, was able to anticipate issues that are central today: the environmental crisis, land consumption, technological alienation, and the need for a new interspecies relationship with the Earth.
Pellegrin’s vision transcends anthropocentrism and imagines a synergistic habitat, where architecture, nature and society come together in a living system. A lesson and a way of thinking that still today challenge the profession of architecture and our collective responsibility towards the planet.
