Encounters with the protagonists of the exhibition
21 September 2010 – 23 January 2011
curated by Pippo Ciorra, Gabi Scardi
encounter + exhibitions entrance: € 11,00
How is a work of art born? How does an idea become project? What goes on “behind the scenes”? All will be explained to the MAXXI public by the architects and artists whose works are on display in the exhibition SPACE, the first thematic exposition of the museum’s collections. Eight encounters, from October 2010 to January 2011, in which the protagonists talk about themselves, their poetic and the underlying principles of their work. An opportunity to explore, discuss and comment on the themes at core of the SPACE exhibition.
21 September 2010, 4.30 pm
First appointment: KIKI SMITH
First up is Kiki Smith, one of the most interesting artists on the international scene, who will be talking about her work inspired by myth, by fables, by her relationship with nature, but also by the female body, by her own eroticism and her fragility
Among the encounters scheduled, those with Santiago Cirugeda, Adrian Paci, Teddy Cruz, Alfredo Jaar, Cesare Pietroiusti, Sami Rintala, Bernard Khoury, Luca Vitone, Francois Roche.
