MAXXI programme curated by Emilia Giorgi
with the contribution of Image
In an Italian preview at MAXXI the programme Living Architectures Marathon presents the complete series of films Living Architectures by Ila Bêka and Louise Lemoine. A monumental work expressing with great power and incisiveness the unusual and penetrating point of view which the two artists have reserved for some of the celebrated architecture of our time.
Five evening events discussing and introducing the public to the works of some of the leading figures in contemporary architecture: Rem Koolhaas, Richard Meier, Frank Gehry, Renzo Piano, Herzog & De Meuron.

GEHRY’S VERTIGO
Film screeing. Introduced by Elena Del Drago
The film offers the spectator a thrilling journey in the footsteps of the team of climbers entrusted with cleaning the glazing of Bilbao’s Guggenheim Museum. Discussing their techniques and the problems they encounter, the film observes from a new point of view the complexity and virtuosity of the forms conceived by Frank Owen Gehry.
