An event centred on the new novel by the renowned journalist and television presenter, telling the story of three women and their personal transformations from the 1960s to the dawn of the new millennium.

There was a time when a woman’s life was merely a consequence of the husband she married. Then came 1968 and the sexual revolution, which radically overturned this script for younger women, whilst those already married, confined to their orderly lives, suddenly found themselves swept up in thoughts of freedom.

The three friends at the heart of the story undergo their personal transformations in a block of flats in the Talenti district of Rome. Around them, a country in the midst of change unfolds: the economic boom, la Dolce Vita, women’s liberation, divorce. Spanning a period from the 1960s to New Year’s Eve of the new millennium, Serena Bortone tells the story of three unforgettable women and their courageous choices.
