An opportunity to engage in dialogue with writer Davide Rondoni to look at the relevance of the Franciscan message with fresh eyes.

With the delicacy and sweetness of a poem, in the book that inspired the meeting, Davide Rondoni presents an unprecedented portrait of St Francis of Assisi and imagines a heartfelt conversation with him in which, inspired by Franciscan teachings, he addresses current issues such as the difference between love and possession, the importance of environmentalism that goes beyond the superficial, and the need for peace as a Christian gift in a world that is currently ravaged by war.

Rondoni recounts the man behind the saint, never inclined to compromise, humble and tormented yet filled with unshakeable joy and faith that led him to the presence of a pope and even a sultan. A visionary poet, whose mystical experience gave rise to a voice that for the first time sang of the unity of the cosmos and love for Nature and its creatures, becoming a precursor of the concept of integral ecology, which also appeared in the encyclical of the pontiff who took his name, Francis.
