A travelling exhibition bringing together works by contemporary artists donated to the Community in its 40th year
The collection was created by the San Patrignano Foundation, which in celebrating the history of the centre that was founded by Vincenzo Muccioli in 1978 intends to guarantee its future through the use of an innovative sustainability tool. This marks the first time that an endowment following the Anglo-Saxon model has been used in Italy, allowing San Patrignano to have capital resources for future structural investments.
The exhibition presents a wide selection from the entire collection, with works by Vanessa Beecroft, Alessandro Busci, Giorgio Griffa, Agnes Martin, Davide Monaldi, Yan Pei Ming, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Julian Schnabel, Sandro Chia, Enzo Cucchiand others. Some of the works have never been exhibited before, including a new work on loan from the artist Silvio Wolf.
The protagonist of a travelling exhibition, after being shown last March at the Milan Triennial, the collection is finally reaching Rome. It will then move onto the new museum in Rimini in 2019, where the aim will be to highlight the works’ contents through special dedicated activities.
Sponsored by BMW and Intesa SanPaolo, in collaboration with the MAXXI Foundation
