“Talking about joy is not so easy at these times: but fortunately I usually go looking for joy; with optimism I find joy in the limits of the possible and, within these limits, I’d like to distribute it those who don’t believe”. The words of Cini Boeri, Compasso d’Oro winner in 1979 and invested in 2011 as a “Grande Ufficiale Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana”.
The Milanese architect and designer will be introducing the MAXXI public to her approach to architecture, the principles and ideas that have inspired her career, from the joy of designing to being a woman, from the involvement of the client to social and political commitment and the anonymity of serious professionals in the era of archistars. And also a desire: that which she would still like to design.
In a career lasting almost 50 years, Cini Boeri has designed single-family dwellings, apartments, museum layouts, offices, shops and objects exhibited in the leading international museums, devoting constant attention to the study of the functionality of space and the psychological relationships between man and his environment.
Introduced by Margherita Guccione, director of MAXXI Architettura.
