An exhibition-event celebrating, five years after his death, the human and musical genius of an artist without equal in the history of Italian music.
An experience that goes beyond music and time, to tell the story of a complete artist: singer-songwriter, musician, poet, philosopher, intellectual. Every aspect of Franco Battiato’s talent resonates throughout the exhibition, restoring the power of a vision that has spanned genres, languages and decades.
In a central space dedicated to listening, we immerse ourselves in a sound experience that becomes the heart of the story. From here, the journey expands: album covers, historical posters, photographs and rare memorabilia recount the complexity of an artist who revolutionised Italian music.
The music is accompanied by pictorial imagery rich in Middle Eastern symbols and suggestions, and by a cinematic exploration that, in recent years, has given shape to his artistic and spiritual research, in continuity with his musical roots and in dialogue with contemporary culture.
The exhibition is co-produced by the Ministry of Culture and MAXXI National Museum of 21st Century Arts, in collaboration with Fondazione Franco Battiato ETS, it is organised by C.O.R. Creare Organizzare Realizzare by Alessandro Nicosia.
