A journey into the world of Claudio Abate, a human and artistic portrait of the photographer.
Rome, the 1960s and 1970s: amidst performances, happenings, installations and visual utopias, the language of Arte Povera was taking shape. Claudio Abate, a photographer capable of transforming every shot into a narrative, captured that period of ferment with a sober, poetic and radically original eye.
Through unseen archive material, personal photographs and Super 8 footage, this documentary constructs a human and artistic portrait of the photographer: from the Rome of cultural cafés and pioneering galleries to the most extreme visual experimentation, Abate reveals himself not only as a witness to an era, but as its essential interpreter and silent co-author of a visual aesthetic that has left its mark on contemporary art.
