On the occasion of the second edition of SUMMER MELA, the festival promoting Indian art and culture in Europe, the number of events has tripled with two talk, at MAXXI, and a workshop, at Zagarolo, within the ambit of the focus INDIALOGUES: MAXXI FINDs INDIA.
BODY WORK
The workshop lasts for three days, held in English and is run by the Indian artist Nikhil Chopra in collaboration with Madhavi Gore, an art critic, and the Slovenian artist Jana Prepeluh.
The programme
At the centre of the first two days of the workshop is the body, understood as the primary instrument of expression. The objective of the lessons is to explore the possibilities of the body and the space it occupies, through a series of physical and mental exercises that overturn common ideas regarding its normal working, its automatisms and behavioural codes.
Images and videos will be projected during the third day to reveal the role of the body in the history of art, both as the subject of works and as a medium.
Deadlines
Applications should arrive by Sunday 15 June 2104; please send a brief biographical note and a motivational test to the following Email address info@find.org.in.
A maximum of 12 places are available.
