Are relations between Science and Politics still conceivable and possible that would free us from our ‘debt’ to the aimless and purposeless proceeding of the technical, economic system?
This question, which Max Weber posed with dramatic clarity a century ago, is the starting point for the discussion between Massimo Cacciari and Alessandro Giuli. The ‘work of the spirit’ is creative, autonomous work, human labour considered in all its actualized power. Turning to its affirmation means liberating all activity from the condition of commanded, dependent, i.e. alienated labour.

“Σύστημα” (System) is a series of encounters in which poetry, new technologies and artistic creativity dialogue to dissect reality and provide new interpretative keys. A series of debates in which contemporary art becomes the hinge of the close relationship between humanism, engineering and philosophy to imagine a future in which the beauty of change will be entrusted solely to the measure of the man.
In collaboration with Fondazione Leonardo-Civiltà delle Macchine and Gruppo CDP – Cassa Depositi e Prestiti.
