The book Writings on art brings together for the first time essays and conversations largely published in daily newspapers, periodicals and specialist magazines, the presentations of exhibitions in catalogues now rare even in the libraries, conference papers, contributions to part works and a quantity of writings that have effectively become inaccessible due to the difficulty in finding the sources.
While the devastating force of Lonzi’s feminism in the 1970s on the one hand and the inevitable systematic organization of the history of art on the other have partially obscured an intensive and lively critical activity, these pages reveal thinking in constant evolution, a kind of diary of the years from 1955 to 1970, not formalized in aesthetic theories but informed by the historical background of one of Roberto Longhi’s most brilliant students.
Speakers: Barbara Cinelli, Silvia Bordini and Laura Fortini.
One of the editors of the book, Laura Iamurri, will also be present.
