A selection of more than 30 videos and film works by eight international artists, most of which have never before been displayed in Italy.
Penumbra Expanded offers a never-before-seen, in-depth overview of the practices of the artists presented by Fondazione In Between Art Film in the Penumbra exhibition held in Venice on the occasion of the Biennale Arte 2022. The eight focuses, each lasting three days, offer a comprehensive look at the themes and formal choices that characterise their poetics for the first time.

Through different languages, these artists reposition the themes of human knowledge and the interpretation of what surrounds us within a dying future. Their works investigate the dynamics of history and memory, issues of working conditions and patriarchal culture, and the impact that geopolitical turmoil has on the bodies, identity and survival of individuals and communities.
