Secchi, Bernardo

Bernardo Secchi is a professor in Territorial Economics since 1965, initially with the Faculty of Economics in Ancona and later with the IUAV in Venice. Since 1986 he also teaches at the Ecole d’Architecture de Genève.
He has designed public housing neighbourhoods, including the Piano per l’Edilizia Economica e Popolare di Vicenza, the recovery of the Sécheron Industrial Area in Geneva (1989) and the plan for the city of Rovereto (1992). He is also the author of the plan for the renovation of a small town near Prato (1988-1992) and the designer of a parking structure-park in the area of Porta Torricella in Ascoli Piceno.
Together with Paola Viganò in 1990 he founded the office Secchi – Viganò.
He is the author of numerous publications, the most recent of which include: Un progetto per Siena: Il concorso per Piazza Matteotti – La Lizza (1992); Tre piani. La Spezia, Ascoli, Bergamo (1995); I territori abbandonati (1995); Un progetto per l’urbanistica (1997); Prima lezione di urbanistica (2000); La città nel ventesimo secolo (2005).
