Una bella vacanza

Four years after his death,   MAXXI is paying tribute to Dino Risi with the documentary Una bella vacanza (A Good Holiday) by Fabrizio Corallo, produced by 3D productions for Raitre on the occasion of the master of Italian comedy’s 90th birthday. At the end of the screening, Risi will be evoked through the memories of actors, colleagues and friends and the screening of around 15 minutes of previously unseen footage.

Awarded a Special Mention at the Nastri d’Argento and presented at a number of international events – including MoMA New York’s “41st Parallel” review – Una bella vacanza as (Risi himself described his film career) sees the director of Il Sorpasso, Una Vita Difficile, I Mostri, Profumo di Donna and many other unforgettable film-portraits of Italy from the post-war years to the present, review his career and life, recalling Italian film’s most fertile period and six decades of social history.
