A delicate human story, an evocative portrait of an architect who prefers to be considered as a designer “poet”, enamoured of life and its multiple forms.

The documentary Tobia Scarpa. L’anima segreta delle cose, directed by Elia Romanelli and produced by Elisa Pajer, sets out to observe an unobservable process: that in which a reading becomes a chair, a tune a boat, a person a house. To try to grasp that human experience which Tobia Scarpa seems to use as the principal ingredient for his “objects”. Ahead of wood, of metal, of bricks. They come later, the things with a soul.
