An exhibition with the candid shots of the world’s most famous photo reporter
For the first time a complete show devoted to the career of the photo reporter who best represents the “paparazzo”, a figure created by Federico Fellini for the film La Dolce Vita. Our country is revived through the shots of a photographer who allowed himself to be guided by instinct and passion to capture the most significant images of the last 50 years of Italian history: not just the international stars, but also the bloody episodes that marked the most painful pages of recent times, through to the great figures of past and present.
The exhibition layout presents a gallery of 100 “stolen” photographs: here you can “meet” actors, actresses and directors from throughout the world in the bars of Via Veneto, be privy to the great scoops of the Sixties and Seventies and discover a hidden side to Rino Barillari A tireless, omnipresent newshound, with a personal archive of over 400,000 photos, who during the course of a 60-year career has totalled 163 trips to the ER, 11 broken ribs, 1 stabbing, 76 smashed cameras (some of which are on show), yet nonetheless still today continues to regale us with his scoops.
