Reframing Indian identity

On the occasion of the exhibition Indian Highway (at MAXXI through to 29 January 2012), the museum is presenting a rich programme of cultural events beginning with the series Found in Translation. Post-colonial Visions.
The first of the three encounters in the series, India: Reframing Indian identity, reflects on Indian identity in relation to the nation’s history as a colonized country and its present, suspended between the contradictions of the society seeing rapid urban expansion and economic development while still strongly rooted in its traditions.

 

Shaul Bassi and Lidia Curti will be participating in the event that will also feature projections of videos by Abhishek Hazra, Tejal Shah, Sarnath Banerjee and Pushpamala N.
