An event to discuss the human condition “after” Sars-Cov-2.

This summer event of Books at MAXXI is based on Paolo Benanti’s books Digital Age. Teoria del cambio d’epoca. Persona, famiglia e società (Edizioni San Paolo) and Se l’uomo non basta. Speranze e timori nell’uso della tecnologia contro il Covid-19 (Castelvecchi).

Hovering between a phase of post-war, post-epidemic or post-poverty well-being, peace and serenity, and another in which the meaning of “post-” becomes “dis-“, thereby creating a dis-human context that denies any form of shared value and social communion. Dealing with this ambiguity reveals the need to think about what to do and how to do it in order to get out of the present and remain human in the future.

A future that constantly forces us to face new questions: what kind of world do we live in? What are its tools? What are its languages? What is the new culture that presses upon our traditions and habits and forces us to change them profoundly? Who is the new man of the Digital Age?
