Landscape to be lived

Thursday 21 March, 16.00
MAXXI Auditorium – admittance free

Stopping overbuilding, conserving and protecting the landscape, considering the operations of safeguarding and reclamation as necessary, all in the name of quality and sustainability. These are the issues tackled in two focus conferences: Landscape to be lived and Landscape to be protected, organized by MAXXI and the Touring Club Italiano within the ambit of the exhibition Re-cycle and on the occasion of the publication of the book by Gabriele Salari, L’Italia diversa.

Landscape to be lived brings together the theses of the world of landscape conservation and environmentalism with daily urban and territorial realities that with the disorderly expansion of the cities, the invasion of industrial warehouses, the continued expansion of residential building and the spread of illegal building are disfiguring the “Bel Paese”.

The conference will feature architects, planners, environmentalists and politicians who will be asked for priority strategies for the safeguarding and management of the landscape.
