Tribute to Ennio Morricone

MAXXI Auditorium, admittance free while places available
Saturday 5 March from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM and Sunday 6 March from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM

MAXXI pays tribute to Maestro Morricone, recently awarded a Best Original Score Oscar, with a looped screening of the reportage The Quake by the director Matteo Barzini: 10 minutes of devastating images made all the more dramatic by a powerful soundtrack.

The film, produced in 2015 by Feel Film, recounts the tragedies of the Syrian war through images collected by the Syrian citizens, archaeologists and filmmakers in the field, at times risking their lives, creating a parallel between the devastation of the historical-cultural heritage and the victims of the war. The destruction of the mosques, minarets, villages and temples and the loss of human life combine with the syncopated rhythms of the music of Ennio Morricone in a modern opera of evil.

The Quake was produced with the support of MiBACT, Rai Teche and Unesco.
