Fifty years after the “spring in which the streets and squares of our country resounded with freedom”, that concept, cultivated by the baby boomer generation, is at risk of collapse.
In his book, Mauro Magatti maintains that we need the freedom that knows how to be responsible, freedom capable of indignation, dedication, affection. Freedom that knows how to replenish the places and processes that create a collective meaning.
Freedom is an exciting, complex, and everyday challenge that never affects the individual only, but every relationship that takes shape in social, cultural and political orders. It is a delicate balance that, like acrobats on a thin thread, we can only reach by putting aside the fear of falling.
