Simona Antonacci is an art historian, born in Rome in 1982. After being awarded a Master’s degree in Contemporary art history at the “La Sapienza” University, she attended the Postgraduate specialty school at the University of Siena, writing a dissertation on Eventualism and the Gruppo di Piombino. She is currently teaching assistant and doctoral student at Università della Tuscia with a project dedicated to the activity of the exhibiting spaces and magazines in Rome in the Eighties and Nineties.
Trained in museology and didactics, from 2005 to 2012 she worked for the Education Department of the MAXXI Museum of Arts of the 21st century, after which she moved to the Photography Centre of MAXXI Architecture. From 2008 to 2013 she worked with the Wunderkammern cultural association, other than curating events and projects dedicated to contemporary art and photography and publishing articles on specialized magazines.

Marco De Mutiis is a curator, media artist and researcher. He works as Digital Curator for Fotomuseum Winterthur (Switzerland) where he leads and co-curates the SITUATIONS programme, an experimental exhibition format and research lab on the changes within contemporary photography. His current research interests lie in simulations of photography in digital spaces and computer games, and generally at mutations, remediations and transformations of photographic media.

Mirjam Kooiman is an art historian and curator at Foam Photography Museum Amsterdam, where she was responsible for shows including Ai Weiwei – #SafePassage, Daisuke Yokota – Matter, Awoiska van der Molen – Blanco, and the traveling Foam Talent exhibitions of 2015 and 2016. In 2017 she also initiated a series of collaborations with photography platforms in Mexico, Nigeria and Indonesia in Foam’s project space Foam 3h, in order to create an exchange of cultural knowledge on photography discourses worldwide. She is currently researching how photography relates to virtual realities and online experiences. Mirjam holds a BA in Art History and a MA in Museum Curating from the University of Amsterdam.

Curator of Camera – Centro Italiano di Fotografia, Turin, Francesco Zanot has worked on exhibitions and publications with many international photographers. In recent years he has curated books dedicated to artists such as Mark Cohen, Guido Guidi, Olivo Barbieri, Luigi Ghirri, Takashi Homma, Linda Fregni Nagler, Francesco Jodice, Boris Mikhailov, as well as Erik Kessels’s last retrospective The Many Lives. Together with Alec Soth, he is the author of the essay Ping Pong Conversations. Director of the Master in Photography organised by the NABA, Milan, he has given classes and lectures in numerous academic institutions, among them the Columbia University, New York, ECAL, Lausanne, and IUAV, Venice. He curated the inaugural exhibition Give Me Yesterday at Fondazione Prada Osservatorio, Milan, which opened to the public in 2016
Un corso di approfondimento, dall’11 al 13 ottobre 2018, per esplorare la pratica curatoriale della fotografia
Come si costruisce un progetto espositivo o editoriale con le immagini? Quali sono le strategie per valorizzarla a livello istituzionale e privato?
Il corso offre una panoramica trasversale sul mondo della fotografia attraverso il confronto diretto con professionisti, esperienze e realtà differenti. I partecipanti avranno l’opportunità di impegnarsi attivamente e criticamente negli attuali dibattiti sulla pratica curatoriale della fotografia contemporanea.
Articolato in 3 giornate, il corso prevede laboratori con esperti, seguiti da due conferenze che metteranno a confronto fotografi, curatori e filosofi.

QUANTO COSTA
Il costo per singolo partecipante è di € 300 o di € 270 per i possessori della membership card myMAXXI (eventuali costi di viaggio, vitto e alloggio sono a carico dei partecipanti).

Per candidarti a partecipare al programma di alta formazione compila il form entro le ore 12:00 di lunedì 24 settembre 2018. Il MAXXI selezionerà su base curriculare i partecipanti entro il 27 settembre 2018. La quota di partecipazione dovrà essere versata entro il 1 ottobre 2018.
TIROCINI
Il MAXXI si riserva la possibilità di selezionare un partecipante per una collaborazione interna al museo della durata di 3 mesi.
