Gratiadei Photography Award

Carlo Scarpa Hall – free admittance until full capacity

The exhibition that presents the works of the winners of the last two editions of the Award, Alba Zari and Alessandro Calabrese, will be open to the public on the 12th and 13th of October.

On the occasion of the 2019 Contemporary Art Day, MAXXI celebrates the collaboration with the Graziadei Photography Award, which has been promoted by the law firm Graziadei Studio Legale since 2012 and that, starting this year, enters fully into the scheduling of the Museum’s photography activities.

The Graziadei Photography Award was founded in 2012 from the Graziadei Studio Legale’s initiative with dual objective of promoting the work of young Italian artists and endorsing it over time. Awarded by an international panel that changes each year, the Award is assigned to an under-35 artist who participates with an already completed project and who is simultaneously commissioned to create a new work to be developed during the following year.

During the exhibition, the opening of the Call for the VII edition of the Award by the end of 2019 will be announced. This edition will have an international panel of judges, which will also involve the participation of MAXXI members.

During the exhibition, the Anselmo project by Luca Nostri, winner of the II edition of the Graziadei Award, will be shown within the New Acquisitions section of the MAXXI Collection. The Space of the Image. On Saturday 12th October at 5:00 p.m., the winning artists of this edition as well as of past editions will meet the public in the Carlo Scarpa Room.
