Six years chasing a celebrated “stencil” by Banksy that, after having appeared on the walls separating Israel from the occupied territories (Donkey Documents), was “removed” from four tonnes of concrete and sold to major museums and collectors. Who does street art belong to, to those who live with it or those who have the power to take possession of it. On the crossroads between aesthetics and law, culture and business, art and politics, the film by Marco Proserpio (Italy 2018, 108’) skilfully and ironically reflects on what it means to create and sell art in the world of today.

Film at MAXXI is a Fondazione Cinema per Roma/CityFest e Fondazione MAXXI coproduction.
