Kjetil Trædal Thorsen, of the Snøhetta studio, presents and explores the meaning of his work, the reasoning, the themes and the contexts in which he has configured his professional career.

For over 20 years Snøhetta has combined architecture and landscape in its projects in an increasingly integrated form: The studio based in Oslo and more recently in New York appears to consider buildings not so much as elements inserted in the environment or embellished by the surrounding nature, but as themselves components of the landscape, massive and semi-natural.
The studio achieved international fame with the winning project in the competition for the reconstruction of the famous Library of Alexandria in Egypt, inaugurated in 2002.
