Futur-E: “inventing” the future of the Enel power station at Rossano

Constructing a new future for the Enel power station at Rossano in the province of Cosenza (Calabria) is the objective of the Futur-E project which is launching a public procedure of acquisition and redevelopment of the site on which the electricity group’s thermo-electric plant stands.

The Futur-E project reflects Enel’s Open Power strategy, characterised by an openness to new forms of sustainable development, to the needs of the local area and communities and to the capacity for innovation of small and large companies. The impellent need to construct a new future for the planet and to respond to the challenges of climate change requires new, more efficient and efficacious solutions that respect the environment.

The public procedure for the acquisition and redevelopment of the Rossano site will take place in two phases lauched on 22 March:

• Expression of interest;
• Due diligence, survey, planning proposal and binding offer of purchase of the site.

Milan Polytechnic, the local authorities of Rossano and the University of Calabria are working together with Enel on the realisation of this initiative.
