On the occasion of the video festival Artapes. #Invisible Cities we meet Iván Argote, among the protagonists of the programme.
Argote uses videos, photographs, sculptures, public interventions and shows, with the desire to explore our inextricable links with history, tradition, art, politics and power. At the centre of his work is also the survey of the city as a place of transformation and potential. It is in this perspective that he travels the world in search of rudimentary signs of fallen power, studying the indirect manifestations of control and observing the use of some conventions so that a particular vision of history becomes the official version.
During the meeting, three works will be projected (Making of, 2007; I just want to give you money, 2007; Altruism, 2011), which document as many performative actions of the artist in the Paris subway.
