MAXXI Auditorium – admittance free

MAXXI is presenting the Italian preview of the film Muster (Rushes), 2012, by Clemens von Wedemeyer, one of the contemporary artists most committed to the interaction of film and the visual arts.
Commissioned by dOCUMENTA (13), the film comprises three stories set in the Benedictine monastery of Breitenau, near Kassel. The images investigate the history of the place and its changes: it has been a prison, a concentration camp and a labour camp, a female reformatory and a psychiatric clinic. The past influences the present and the future, with a script that rebels against the idea and the invisibility of the fourth wall, questioning the relationships between historical truth and fiction.
