Three Hours with Le Corbusier. An Encounter with Francesco Dal Co

Incontrare Le Corbusier is the name of a series of appointments dedicated to the Swiss master architect, sculptor, painter and brilliant thinker. Experts will examine different episodes in the career of the father of modern urbanism, offering a 360° vision of this multifaceted figure.

During the second encounter Francesco Dal Co, historian, curator and director of Casabella, will meet with the MAXXI’s public to speak about Le Corbusier and his work, outlining a rich and articulated profile that reveals the importance and influence of this figure to contemporary art and architecture.

Francesco Dal Co. Born in 1945, he holds a degree in architecture from the IUAV University of Venice in 1970. Since 1981 he is chair of the Department of History of Architecture at the IUAV and Professor of History of Architecture at the School of Architecture at Yale University (1982-1991) and Professor of History of Architecture at the Accademia di Architettura, University of Italian Switzerland (1996-). He is a Senior Fellow with the Center for Advanced Studies at the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC, a Scholar at the Center for Advanced Study, Getty Center, Los Angeles and Member of the National Academy San Luca. He was director of the Architectural Section at the Venice Biennale (1988-1991) and Director of the Department of the Department of History of Architecture at the IUAV (1995-2003). Since 1996 he is Director of Casabella magazine.
