The Pilosio Building Peace Award recognises examples of construction that improves global conditions of life, promoting interchange, tolerance and peace among peoples.
The fourth edition has been won by Samia Yaba Nkrumah with the Kwame Nkrumah Presidential Library project in Accra.

‘The charisma, personality and gentleness with which
she fights for her country and the rights of the African people,
make her one of the great leaders of the contemporary world’
Dario Roustayan

Presented for the first time anywhere in the world at MAXXI, the library was designed by the architect Mario Cucinella and conceived by Samia Nkrumah who has dedicated it to her father Kwame Nkrumah, the revolutionary president of Ghana in the 1960s. It is a work with an enormous symbolic value, a place for meeting and the exchange of experiences for the entire African continent and especially for the younger generations of Ghana.
