Francine Houben is founding partner /creative director of Mecanoo Architecten in Delft, the Netherlands. She is one of Europe’s most active architects having realized numerous works, publications and exhibitions.
Her award winning projects illustrate the three fundamental elements of her architectural vision: Composition, Contrast and Complexity. In 1999 Francine Houben introduces the concept of the aesthetics of mobility as a new instrument for country and town planning.
Currently Francine Houben is working on a new book, “Dutch Mountains” to be launched in November 2011. Dutch Mountains is a fascinating perspective on her experience as a global architect.
