Study day “The 20th Century Italian Landscape. Agricultural Land Reclamation”

Monday 28 January, 9.30 – 14.00
MAXXI B.A.S.E., Graziella Lonardi Buontempo Room

The study day The 20th Century Italian Landscape. Agricultural Land Reclamation is born out of the desire to promote reflection on the future of the delicate balance between land and water and takes place on the occasion of the presentation of issue 31 of DOCOMOMO Italia giornale.

The event is an opportunity for the valorization of the specific physiognomy of the landscape of reclaimed agricultural lands of the 20th Century that are such a feature of various areas, identifying the dynamics of transformation and fuelling possible strategies of intervention in the hoped for direction of sustainable land development.

The day has been divided into two working sections – Land and Reclamation and Infrastructure and Architecture – due to be opened by papers by Margherita Guccione, director of MAXXI Architettura, Rosalia Vittorini, president of DOCOMOMO Italia onlus, Maria Grazia Bellisario, director of MiBAC’s Service V-Art, Architecture and the Contemporary, Alessandro Marata, president of CNAPPC’s Department of the Environment and Sustainability and Cristiana Marcosano Dell’Erba, chief editor of “DOCOMOMO Italia giornale”.
