Tjallingii, Sybrand

Sybrand Tjallingii is an urban planner who has studied the role of ecology in the landscape and urbanism. From 1975 to 1990 he taught with the TU Delft and, form 1990 to 2002, he collaborated with the ALTERRA research centre, a department of the University of Wageningen for the development of planning research tied to the role of green areas in urbanism.
In 2002 he returned to the TU Delft as Associate Professor in Environmental Design and, following his retirement, has remained with the same Faculty as a researcher and Guest Lecturer.
He is currently working under commission from two different Dutch State Institutions: the Ministry of Spatial Planning and the Development Agency for Rural Areas.
From 2008 to 2011 he lectured with the EMU – European Masters of Urbanism programme at the IUAV in Venice.
