How do you create an exhibition, a magazine, or a book on design?
Is there a method for being creative?
What characterises a great talent?
Four events devoted to one of the most studied and ramified contemporary disciplines. Enter the designers, critics and entrepreneurs who have marked the history of design project in the last fifty years, both in Italy and the world.
The last event will see the audience meet Giulio Cappellini, one of the most influential individuals in the world of design, an extraordinary discoverer of new talents. Indeed, his choices have contributed to “baptising” some of the most innovative designers of their respective generations, thereby making them the leaders of the main movements of contemporary design. Cappellini will critically guide us through his experiences as artistic director, talent scout, designer, and innovator.
Giulio Cappellini has been working with the spirit and curiosity of those who want to constantly reinvent themselves ever since 1979. The years have often seen him work as designer and promote a personal interpretation of contemporary design, both for his own brand and as art director for other important companies of the industry. His most ambitious project, namely the “company”, has enabled the Cappellini brand to become one of the most important trend setters in the world. Moreover, he is universally renowned for his scouting of young designers, which were then launched by the company: witness Jasper Morrison, Marc Newson, Marcel Wanders, the Bouroullec and Nendo brothers.
